saw all the teams scoring well. Then a Mixed Bag round of 21 Questions which saw
lesser number of pounces and more bounces, a few googlies which the teams missed, yet Team
D managed to score well and had a giant leap in this round. An interesting
round on “Food” turned out to be a delicious affair for all the teams. The Quiz
concluded with a written round of 10 Questions consisting of 2 parts each, with
phonetically similar answers. This unique round made each Team think and
workout the answers especially when only one part was known.
In the end Team D which was consistent throughout the
session proved to be victorious followed by Team B and Team A. The overall Quiz
was a wonderful learning experience with range of topics including Personalities
from Bengal, renaissance paintings, Literature, etc. Kudos to the efforts put
in by the QMs in setting the Quiz in a new format.
The Prize Distribution ceremony took place at the hands of Mrs.Naseri. It’s good to know that a
bunch of young quizzers have been showing up regularly for the sessions. The
club has been budding with a variety of Quizzes and an increasing following
amongst people.
Padmanabhan Pillai-
“…the hardwork put into research for
creating original questions was evident.”
QM’s Word- “This was for the first time I (Srishti) have
set a Quiz. Each of us had put 6-8
months of research into the Quiz; a lot of Questions stemmed out from personal
experiences accumulated at this time. The crowd was quite diverse, ranging from
undergraduate students to working professionals. Catering to everyone’s tastes
was quite a challenge, but the crowd was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The
four found Quiz went down to the wire in the last round, as we expected. All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a
Sunday, especially for us”
