Then a Mixed Bag round of 21 Questions which saw lesser number of pounces and more bounces, a  few googlies which the teams missed, yet Team D managed to score well and had a giant leap in this round. An interesting round on “Food” turned out to be a delicious affair for all the teams. The Quiz concluded with a written round of 10 Questions consisting of 2 parts each, with phonetically similar answers. This unique round made each Team think and workout the answers especially when only one part was known.
In the end Team D which was consistent throughout the session proved to be victorious followed by Team B and Team A. The overall Quiz was a wonderful learning experience with range of topics including Personalities from Bengal, renaissance paintings, Literature, etc. Kudos to the efforts put in by the QMs in setting the Quiz in a new format.
The Prize Distribution ceremony took place at the hands of Mrs.Naseri. It’s good to know that a bunch of young quizzers have been showing up regularly for the sessions. The club has been budding with a variety of Quizzes and an increasing following amongst people.
Padmanabhan Pillai- “…the hardwork put into research for creating original questions was evident.”
QM’s Word- “This was for the first time I (Srishti) have set a Quiz.  Each of us had put 6-8 months of research into the Quiz; a lot of Questions stemmed out from personal experiences accumulated at this time. The crowd was quite diverse, ranging from undergraduate students to working professionals. Catering to everyone’s tastes was quite a challenge, but the crowd was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The four found Quiz went down to the wire in the last round, as we expected. All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a Sunday, especially for us”

Blitzkrieg: Where it all began

Nagpur Quiz Club had successfully conducted two Open Quizzes, but an idea of doing an 'In-house Quiz' took a lot of time to materialise. It finally happened on 15th August 2011. The Quiz was called 'Blitzkrieg'. It was a unique format, probably one of its kind. Every participant had to register before hand and bring with himself 10 Questions made by him. Teams of two individuals were made on the spot by draw of lots. This was one experimental attempt where every participant got an opportunity to become a Quiz Master, the main purpose being to emphasise the importance of making original questions. The result was awesome.
In a standard quiz, the Quiz Master follows his own particular style of making questions which don't generally exceed 40-50, Blitzkrieg had multiple Quiz Masters and hence multiple type of questions with number of questions reaching 120.
Thirteen people participated in the inaugural edition of Blitzkrieg, the results were as follows:
Winners:
Mr. Shivam Sharma
Mr. Hemant Singh
3 teams jointly finished 2nd:
Mr. Akhil Singh and Mr. Aditya Morarka,
Miss Rida Hamid, Mr. Abhijeet Bose and Mr. Rishi Vij
Mr.Rajat and Mr. Padmanabhan Pillai.
NQC today has done more than 60 In-house Quizzes and Blitzkrieg too has had 6 editions in all but the excitement of the first edition will always be special.
